Carl Bacon, 77, of Coahoma, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with Rick Cunningham officiating.

Carl was born March 26, 1937, in Mitchell County, Texas and married Annita Thompson June 29, 1991, in Coahoma. He worked for Weaver Services in Snyder for more than 20 years and loved cabinetry. He was a Christian.

Albert Lee Ortega

Albert Lee Ortega, 46, of Big Spring, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at his residence.

He was born April 22, 1967, in Big Spring, Texas. He graduated from Big Spring High School in 1985 and attended Aladdin Beauty College. He moved to Arizona in 2002 and returned to Big Spring in 2008.

Survivors include four brothers, Jose O. Ortega, Sammy Ortega and Rudy Ortega, all of Big Spring and Carlos Ortega of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Mary Lou Ortega Puga of Big Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Zonetta 'Zo' Moore

Zonetta “Zo” Moore, 91, of Nocona, Texas, died April 19, 2014. Grave service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Jack McBride officiating.

Zonetta was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Wellington, Texas to Leslie Auburn and Sarah Etta Moore. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Big Spring, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, Kim Combs and Tricia Stewart, both of Nocona; brother, Joe Lynn Moore of New Mexico; and three grandchildren.

Gerardo 'Oaxaca' Rodriguez

Gerardo “Oaxaca” Rodriguez, 57, of Midland died Monday April 21, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Ackerly Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 27, 1956, in Mexico. He moved from Mexico to Lamesa in 1974. He married Maria Riojas on October 1989, in Lamesa. He lived most of his life in Ackerly where he farmed and he was a Catholic.

Donald “Tink” Nichols passed away after a brief illness Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 11:46 a.m. at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born in Knott, Texas to John P. and Myrtie Nichols June 10, 1932, his mother’s birthday. He married Lucille Mundell June 24, 1950, and was blessed with almost 64 years of marriage and four children.
