Rumaldo Del Bosque, 86, of Big Spring, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Private family services will be held at a later date.
He was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Rivera, Texas, to Michaela (Narajo) and Rosendo Del Bosque. He was a longtime resident of Howard County. He moved to Big Spring over 50 years ago from Levelland. He was a Catholic and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the 1st Lightening Division in Berlin, Germany. He worked for the Veterans Administration Medical Center before retiring after 55 years. He also raised livestock.
He is survived by two sons: Oscar Del Bosque of Big Spring and Olivar Del Bosque of Houston; three daughters: Odila Morales and husband Alfredo of Midland, Olga Riepe and husband Steve of Henderson, Nev., and Orelia Kliebenstein and husband John of Brownwood; six stepchildren: Jo Ann Mendez and husband Marcos of Big Spring, David Rodriguez and wife Liz of Big Spring, Brenda Espinoza and husband Ray of Snyder, Louisa Edmondson and husband Nuner of Big Spring, Betty Rodriguez of Midland and Guadalupe Rodriguez of Big Spring; three brothers: Julio Del Bosque and wife Thelma of Kingsville, Gilbert Del Bosque and wife Lilly of Odessa and Rosendo Del Bosque of Odessa; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children: Esther Del Bosque in 2008; his wife: Lydia Del Bosque in 2009; one sister and four brothers.
