Juan “Johnny” Haro, 68, of Big Spring died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Sam Segundo, pastor of Family Faith Center, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born March 3, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas to Eustolia “Emma” and Juan Haro. He grew up in Big Spring and served in the U.S. Army. He married Lendora Rose and she preceded him in death in 1994. He received an associate’s degree from Howard College and was a member of North Side Methodist Church. He enjoyed reading, especially classical and science, as well as watching movies, walking, outdoors and eating out.
He is survived by one sister, Margarita Robles and husband, Juan, of Big Spring; six brothers, Joseph M. Haro of Big Spring, Robert M. Haro and wife, Isabel, of Flower Mound, Henry M. Haro and wife, Delma, of Big Spring, Tony M. Haro of Odessa, David M. Haro and wife, Katie, of Big Spring and Jesse M. Haro and wife, Pricilla, of San Antonio; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard M. Haro, a nephew; and a niece.
