The 2011 Health Fair is coming up. It can be a great time for local health providers to get information out to the community, but you have to get your booth reserved on time.
The Health Fair will take place at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum on April 9 from 8 a.m. until noon. The theme this year is “Sowing the Seeds to Good Health.”
During this time, local health care providers have the opportunity to reach a good portion of the community. Those in attendence are looking for ways to be healthier and to find out where they are on the health scale. It’s the perfect opportunity to reach some people who might not normally be reached.
For those interested in setting up a booth, reservations made before March 11 will be $80 and reservations made between March 12 and March 25 will be $100. No booths will be accepted after March 25. The chamber can be contacted for more information regarding booth spaces at 432-263-7641.
However, don’t forget who the health fair is aimed at – the public.
Those attending the health fair will have access to numerous screenings and have the possiblity to view demonstrations concerning adult and child airway obstruction and choking. Parents even have the chance to get identification kits for their children. The possibilities are endless.
If you’ve never been to a health fair this is a great year to attend. If doctor’s offices scare you, then the health fair is the place for you. There are no waiting rooms or long hours wondering what will happen. You have the choice to choose what you want to have checked and what you want to avoid.
After all, it never hurts to check it out.
