Howard County Conservatives will host a Tea Party rally from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Heart of the City Park.
The event is informal. Those attending may want to bring refreshments and lawn chairs.
“This is an opportunity for all citizens to become better informed on the critical issues facing our country and what they can do to make a difference,” said Bo Fryar, event organizer.
Special guests will be State Rep. Jim Landtroop and Dr. Donald May. Local conservative candidates will also be present at the rally, according to Fryar.
“The concern of the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation,” said Fryar. “Our mission is to attract, educate, organize and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values — fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government and free markets.”
Heart of the City Park is located in downtown Big Spring, north of the Howard County Courthouse.
