In the Big Spring Country Club championship tournament, the first flight was dominated by Blake Brorman. His combined 218 score for three rounds was three strokes ahead of Justin Myers. Tawleigh McCullough finished in third place in the flight, shooting a 223.
In the second flight, Brian Heidelberg and R. C. Reed both finished the day with a 235. Reed came from behind to tie in the second round, shooting a 79 to force the tie. Heidelberg eventually won the flight, with Byron Harris coming in third place with a 237.
In the third flight, Steve Waggoner ran away with the lead, shooting 80, 78 and 78 for a final score of 236. Danny Whitehead came in second place with a 244,with Delvin Guinn right behind him with a 245. Also notable in this flight was the first round score of Heath Bailey. His 66 was the lowest round recorded in the tournament.
Rocky McCullough finished the fourth flight with a 10-stroke lead, never going over 80 in any given round. Scores of 77, 77 and 79 gave him a total of 233. Johnny Earp took second place in the flight, shooting a 243. Drew Mouton finished the day in third place with a 247.
In the fifth flight, Mike Scarbrough recorded the lowest three-round score of the tournament. Scarbrough's 215 (69, 74 and 72) gave him a comfortable margin for the win. In second place, was Jerry Dudley with a 223, followed by Kyle Ditto with his score of 225.
