Robert E. “Bob” Hutte, 93, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born Oct. 22, 1917, in Escanaba, Mich,, to Mary Pfeiffer Hutte and Albert Hutte. He owned and operated a chain of movie theaters in Iowa and eventually moved to Texas, where he operated a theatre in Andrews and two in Seminole. He was an active member of the Democratic Party and prided himself as being a personal friend of Lyndon B. Johnson. He always wanted to make things better in the world and in the U.S.A., especially in the area of education. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Hutte in 1980.
He is survived by a son, John Hutte of Amarillo; a daughter, Margo Trevino and husband Hector of Kilgore; a son, Michael D. Hutte and wife Patti of Kerrville, 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
