The Forsan Buffaloes pulled off an exciting fourth-quarter comeback Tuesday night against Garden City. Down 37-36heading into the final frame, the Buffaloes became unstoppable, draining buckets from all over the court and scoring 21 points in the period to take a 57-52 victory.
After jumping out to an early16-8 lead after the first period, Forsan found themselves in a real fight, as Garden City rebounded in the second and third quarters, outscoring the Buffaloes 16-12 and 13-8, respectively.
Aric Hernandez got hot early and stayed that way throughout the game, lighting up the scoreboard for a game-high 18 points, while grabbing five rebounds to lead Forsan to the win.
The Buffaloes needed one point in the fourth to tie and two for the win, but they outscored Garden City by six in the final frame, earning the win.
Leading the team in rebounds was Dillon Bagnall with 10 boards. Bagnall also put up seven points in the effort and grabbed three steals. He was joined by Matthew Mims, who also scored seven points.
Patrick Robles and Kade Fannin each added six points to the stat sheet for the Buffaloes, with Fannin fighting his way through for four rebounds, while Brendan Roman added four points.
Tyler Evans, Trevor Burchett and Bryson Phiullipseach added three points in the game as well, as the team rallied behind Hernandez to pull out the win late.
