STANTON — Where can you go and shop at 500 stores, all within a few blocks of each other, and grab a meal, a snack or a refreshing drink, too?
Old Sorehead Trade Days, for sure.
It's time again for the folks in Martin County to roll out the red carpet for a shopping extravaganza in downtown Stanton. Fine arts, crafts and collectibles of all kinds are featured at the event, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 13-14.
Parking is convenient as volunteers operate carts to take trade days-goers from and to their vehicles. There is also a special handicapped parking area. Best of all, there is no fee.
More than 500 vendors will be offering old items, new items and handcrafted items for sale — antiques, clothing, leather goods, paintings and prints, candles, novelties, scarves, furniture, birdcages and much more. In addition, other vendors will be selling kettle corn, hot dogs, funnel cakes, corn dogs, hamburgers, fajitas, cotton candy and just about any drink you'd like to wet your palate.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
