Big Spring Symphony Guild has extended the application for students to apply for the Phyllis Graumann Memorial Scholarship.
It's the second year for the Guild to offer the scholarship for seventh through 11th grade vocal or instrumental students in Howard County.
“Please encourage your students you believe deserve a scholarship for further education in music to apply,” Guild President Eulaine McIntosh said in a release to area teachers. “We have two scholarships available this year.”
The selected applicants will receive a $300 scholarship to use for private music instruction, music camp/school tuition or a music festival attendance.
Applicants must issue a $5 non-refundable check to the scholarship fund and attach a copy or your identification to show proof of age. These should be mailed to the Phyllis Graumann Memorial Scholarship Committee, Big Spring Symphony Guild, 2800 Crestline Road, Big Spring, TX 79720.
Include a DVD or video tape of the student playing instrument or singing approximately two minutes long. Ask your music teachers to write a letter of recommendation.
The deadline has been extended to June 1.
