Big Spring ISD Farm Fresh Fridays

BSISD instituted its Farm Fresh Fridays this past week, a program to promote fresh vegetables and fruits across the district campuses. Each Friday, a fruit and vegetable will be highlighted. The district bought tasting carts through a grant where several different foods created from the fruit or vegetable of the week will be available for students to sample. Marcy Elementary cafeteria manager Angie Garcia hands out some treats made from carrots, the vegetable of the week Friday. Garcia said all the produce used on the tasting cart was produced and bought from Texas farms.
