The Big Spring varsity track team is now heading to state after competing in the UIL 4A regional track meet held at Lowery field in Lubbock last weekend, April 28-29. The top two finishers from each event are headed to Austin, Texas to compete at the state meet on Thursday – Saturday, May 11-13.
Men's state qualifiers from Big Spring High School are as follows:
Ian Gonzales (400m run – first place, 800m run – first place), Jeremiah Rushin (300m 36” hurdles – second place), 4x100 Relay team of Daniel Luna, CJ Harris, Rene Villa and Leon Mathews – first place, 4x200 relay team of Jaiden Ludington, Jeremiah Rushin, Daniel Luna and Leon Mathews – first place, 4x400 relay team of Aaron Martinez, Jeremiah Rushin, CJ Harris and Ian Gonzales – first place.
