This upcoming Thursday, members of the Big Spring High School choir and Rhapsody will be giving the public a sneak peak of the show they'll be taking to New York for their summer trip.
“We will performing at First Presbyterian Church,” said high school head choir director Gershom Garcia. “It's a practice run since we will be singing in some cathedrals in New York. The church has similar acoustics.”
Throughout the year, choir members and their families have been raising funds for the New York City trip hosting unique events like a Zombie Fun Run to a dinner theater, a golf tournament, and hamburger suppers. More than 40 students plus chaperones will be going on the five-day, four night trip. All but just a little less than a $1,000 has been raised, Gershom said, and that money will go toward the rental of the busses to take the students to and from the airport in Dallas.
The practice concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 701 Runnels St. Donations
