The Coahoma Freedom Parade is this Saturday, and Christian country artist Gene Snow will return to provide the music. Snow has performed at the festival following the annual parade for the past several years, said Coahoma resident and relative to Snow by marriage, Randall Reid.
Snow is known as the lead singer/songwriter and guitar player for the Texas Eagle Dirt Band, whose mix of traditional country and bluegrass has received awards: In 2013, Snow’s song “Kentucky Moon” was named Song of the Year at the Texas Troubadour Singer/Songwriter Classic in Clifton, Texas; and the band was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in Gatesville the same year.
The annual parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday.
