Former tax office clerk gets 6 years for theft conviction

Vanessa C. Olivas, a former clerk in the Howard County Tax Assessor/Collector's office, was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to theft by a public servant charges.

Olivas was accused of stealing between $40,000 and $42,000 while employed by the county.
