Gilbert Cisneros, 78, of Big Spring died Saturday Nov. 02, 2013 at his residence. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday with vigil services at 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Graveside services with military honors will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.He was born Dec. 5, 1934, to Isabel and Jose Cisneros in Robstown, Texas. He came to Big Spring in 1959 from San Antonio. He served in the Army in Korea. He worked as an electrician for more than 30 years at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Big Spring. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler. He owned and operated the Webb Bowling Lanes in the 1980s. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.He is survived by his wife, Regina Cisneros of Big Spring; two daughters, Isabel Blanek and husband Charlie of San Angelo and Reina Cisneros and Chad Heinis of Big Spring; four sons, Gilbert Cisneros Jr. and wife Deborah of San Antonio, David Cisneros and wife Virginia of El Paso, Paul Ray Cisneros and wife Rachel of Abilene and Matias Cisneros and wife Maina of Big Spring; four sisters, Aurora Roque of San Antonio, Rebecca Garcia and husband Enrique of Big Spring, Luisa Garza and husband Iceneo of Buda and Elvira Flores and husband Ricardo of Abilene; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren, Nevaeh Ortega, Natalie Ortega, Les Coleman III and Lailah Coleman; several nieces and nephews; and his first wife, Carmen Florez.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ester Cisneros, one brother, Vidal Cisneros and two sisters, Alvina Guiterrez and Dora Cisneros.Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
