Head library search on tap for HC trustee meeting

An update on the search for a new head librarian to oversee the Howard College and Howard County library program is on tap when Howard College trustees meet Monday.
According to Howard College President Dr. Cheryl Sparks, sit-down interviews of candidates are currently ongoing, and the college, with the county’s input, expects to make the hire sometime in June.
“The applicants seem really excited about this,” Sparks said. “This is a unique opportunity.”
In January, the two entities signed an agreement to share a head librarian position for both college academic libraries on each of its campuses and the community library located in downtown Big Spring.
College trustees will meet at 12:30 p.m. in the Tumbleweed Room located in the Student Union Building, 1001 Birdwell Lane.
