This Friday and Saturday is the Keep Big Spring Beautiful (KBSB) E-Waste collection in conjunction with the City of Big Spring.
On Friday from 2-4 p.m., businesses with electronics or individuals that have 10 or more computers to dispose of can deliver them to the city landfill. On Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., all other individuals may dispose of their electronics.
The fee for use of the landfill will be waved on these days for electronics only.
Items that qualify are computers, laptops, monitors, cell phones, televisions, DVD/VCR players, scanners, fax machines, video game devices and consoles, and copiers and peripheral devices such as keyboards, mouses, hard drives and other types of electronics.
Churches, businesses, individuals, schools, and other organizations are encouraged to take part and clean out the electronic clutter from their homes, businesses, and storage.
Remember to remove batteries prior to drop off. There will be a waiver to be signed for computers and devices with hard drives to release information to be deleted.
The landfill is located at 4100 E. FM 700.
