Lady Buffs' season closes with 40-26 loss to Haskell

Something had to give. It was two of the most touted Class 2A girls teams in the state playing for a trip to the regional tournament. In this one it was the Haskell Maidens coming away with a 40-26 win over the Forsan Lady Buffaloes in regional quarterfinal action.
The Maidens, 34-1 for the season and riding a 20-game win streak, proved why they are ranked No. 13 in the state as they were just too much for the Lady Buffs, who had won 17 straight themselves.
What's more impressive, is that Haskell basically did it with five players. The only substitution Haskell made came when post player Hollyn Hadaway fouled out with one minute left in the game.
Haskell won this game with an aggressive 1-3-1 zone defense, one that constantly sagged back to protect the rim against the taller Forsan front line.
