Michael Lee Shockley

Michael Lee Shockley, 72, of Big Spring died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Memorial Park with Courtney Ballard, pastor of Cowboy Church, officiating.He was born April 10, 1940, to Zada Lee (Roberts) and Cecil Jeptha Shockley Sr. in Knott, Texas. He grew up in Knott, on the cotton farm, where he graduated and later moved to Big Spring, where he spent the rest of his life with his wife, Dominga Shockley, until he was called home.Michael worked in the cotton industry, sales and livestock trading. He made this his hobby. He trained coon dogs and dogs to work livestock. He enjoyed collecting all kinds of antiques. Most of all he loved all his animals, especially his dog Baby. He was a jack-of-all-trades.He is survived by his wife, Dominga Shockley of Big Spring; three sons, David Shockley of Merkel, Aaron Shockley and Michael Shockley Jr. and wife Cashea, all of Big Spring; his additional family, Tim Rangel and wife Ione of Big Spring, Ty Rangel of Missouri and Karla Oliva and husband Mike of Big Spring; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, C.J. Shockley of Arizona and Richard Shockley of Marshall; three aunts and several cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bruce Shockley.Pallbearers will be Dean Blake, Richard Smith, C.C.
