“We rise only by lifting others,” are words that Permian Basin Events (PBE) lives by. Founded in 2013, PBE holds events that help people stay active and have fun, but it doesn't stop there for them. The proceeds made from their events are given back to local non-profit organizations that do different services for the community.
One such event was their annual RUN 2 LOVE 2 RUN 5K on Feb. 10, 2018, and as a result, PBE was able to raise $1,000 and donated it to CASA of West Texas, which is a court appointed special a advocated for children who are in the foster care system. PBE presented a check to CASA of West Texas on Thursday at the Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Big Spring, who also sponsor the Run 2 Love.
“We love fitness and helping others get fit,” said Craig Felty.
Felty, along with his wife, Cherise Felty, own Permian Basin Events and put on and run all of the events all year round.
“It's great that we have a way to host events that serve a duel purpose,” said Craig. “Staying fit and giving back to those services in our community who also give and help.”
PBE will also host their annual Master of the Mountain on April 21, 2018. and all the proceeds made from the event will go to The Life Center, a non-profit, faith-based, alternative-to-abortion organization, promoting sexual integrity for life, located here in Big Spring.
“We just do what we can to help others,” said Craig.
