Releasing the butterflies

The park was filled with butterflies and the memories of passed loved ones during the annual butterfly release on Sunday.
Over 300 butterflies were released at the 12th Annual Butterfly Release and Family Celebration put on by Home Hospice at the Dora Roberts Community Center Sunday afternoon.
“I think being able to release that butterfly is like a way of opening themselves to grief being over, and seeing that there are other people there grieving as they are and their not alone in that process,” said Beverly Grant, volunteer coordinator. “I think when you release that butterfly you release a lot of grief and get to feel some comfort.”
