Streets get a facelift

Staff Writer

It wasn’t the street fairies out this weekend leaving fresh road stripes. City workers seal-coated several streets in the city beginning early Saturday morning. Streets paved this weekend were Birdwell, 25th St., 11th Place, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Goliad, Wasson Road and Parkway. According to City Manager Todd Darden, the city lacks just a few streets for the seal-coating project budgeted in this year. Early morning weekends are the best time for a project of this type, Darden said, since that’s when traffic is normally the lightest. (HERALD photo/Amanda Elston)
