Two players who took the field for the Howard Hawks will be trading their wings in for halos after the Major League Baseball draft Saturday.
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim selected Howard outfielder Cameron Williams in the 25th round and West Virginia University closer Blake Smith in the 29th round of the draft. Smith, who just finished his senior year with the Mountaineers, was the Hawks’ closer in 2013 and 2014 before transferring to WVU.
