Nineteen Big Spring High School Academic team members punched their ticket for the UIL State Academic Meet by placing at the Region 1-4A UIL Academic Meet held on the campus of Texas Tech this past weekend. The number of state qualified students is a record for Big Spring High School. The placings allowed the team to win the Region Sweepstakes award by amassing 326 points, eclipsing the 199 points by Andrews High School.
