A Seminole resident was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Gaines County Saturday morning.
According to a statement issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Carlos Isaac Perez-Loera, 20, of Seminole was driving his 2018 Chevrolet Equinox north on County Road 251 when he disregarded the stop sign at the intersection with County Road 214, intersection with County Road 214, traveling through the intersection into a pasture. His vehicle rolled over and he was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Gaines County Justice of the Peace Patrick Kissick.
According to the DPS statement, investigation conducted by Trooper Mariana Lopez of the Texas Highway Patrol out of Andrews discovered that Perez-Loera was not wearing his safety belt at the time of the accident. Weather conditions at the time of the wreck were clear and roads were dry.
