Forsan and Coahoma High School excelled at Area Contest Saturday. Forsan earned its ninth straight trip to state contest while Coahoma just missed the cut by two points.
Saturday turned out to be a long day for both bands Forsan marched in the Class 2A competition held in Amarillo and Coahoma competed in Class 3A held in Lubbock. Besides the travel time, both high schools competed in prelims during the afternoons and in the finals held later in the evening.
For now, Forsan will continue pushing on in marching season when it competes at the state championship held in San Antonio on Nov 1. The Coahoma band will turn its attention toward concert competition after ending another successful marching contest season.
