Big Spring City Council members adopted a tool Tuesday night for city employees to calculate the cost of infrastructure improvements to be able to balance costs in a fair way, specifically in two major growth areas.
During their meeting, council members approved a CIP Cost Analysis Report conducted by the engineering firm Freese and Nichols. This tool provides a funding methodology that city employees can use to determine a fair share of costs developers can contribute to the infrastructure upgrades.
The city is planning ahead for rapid growth in two sections of the city.
