Texas Land Commissioner makes stop in Big Spring

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush made a stop at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Tuesday to tour the facility and visit with residents. This was the last stop in a tour of the eight veterans homes managed by the Texas Land Board Commission. Bush is the chairman of that commission.
“As Land Commissioner, one of the most important roles that I take very seriously is serving as chair of the Veterans Land Board,” Bush said. “There is no more important time in our country’s history than now to recognize what we can do as Texan citizens to look out for our veterans,” Bush said.
“We have 1.7 million veterans in the state. The VLB manages eight health care facilities for military vets. It was part of my goal in my first year of service to visit every location.”
