Starr announces bid for District 19 seat

On Wednesday, retired Colonel Michael Bob Starr traveled around the district to Lubbock, Abilene, and Big Spring to formally announce his candidacy for U.S. Congress, District 19. Starr is a recent retiree as 7th Bomb Wing Commander at Dyess Air Force base where he served 23 years as a B1 instructor pilot with 1100 days of deployment under his belt since 9/11.
He joins the seven other candidates that have announced their candidacy to run for district 19. This includes Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson, Levelland healthcare administrator DeRenda Warren, Dr. Donald May, President and C.E.O. of Platinum Bank Greg Garrett, Texas Tech official and former Bush aide Jodie Arrington, Slaton businessman and oilfield worker Jason Corley. and attorney Sam Mehaffey.
