Amarillo police charge man with murder

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) — Amarillo police have charged a man in the death of a woman during an argument that left her dead under a car he allegedly was driving. Potter County jail records show 28-year-old Ralph Owens was being held without bond Tuesday on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No attorney was listed to speak for Owens, who was arrested after officers responded to a call about a fight Monday afternoon near a house and a woman run over. Investigators say the body of 27-year-old Kristen King was located under a car. Police say another woman was hit by the vehicle and has injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Police didn't immediately say what prompted the disturbance or any relationship between the suspect and the victims.
