2nd Moonlight Run to be held tonight

The second of three Moonlight Rave Runs hosted by Permian Basin Events in Big Spring State Park kicks off at 11:55 tonight from outside the park headquarters.
“We always do a series of moonlight runs in the summer and June the ninth is our second one in a series of three,” said Permian Basin Events’ Cherise Felty. “It’s just a really fun event because people come out as families, and they bring their glow bracelets and glow necklaces. A lot of times, people will do the two loops around the top instead of going all the way to the bottom. We do set up the lights all around the mountain so that the shirts light up in the dark. They have glow paint on them, and these are black lights all along the run. Of course, it’s a full moon. We always plan the race when there’s a full moon.”
Felty said participants can register the night of the event, but pre-registering works better for everyone concerned.
“We’d like for everybody to pre-register, if they can, at permianbasinevents.com,” she said. “If they want to register the night of the race, they need to be through the gate at the mountain before 11:30. If they pre-register, we can guarantee their shirt size and all that sort of thing.”
