The Snyder Tigers gave and the Big Spring Steers accepted. It all added up to a 6-2 win in a key District 3-4A win Friday night at Steer Field.
With the win, the second-place Steers edge closer to the league leading Tigers. With two games remaining, Snyder sits at 9-4 while the Steers move to 8-5.
Snyder closes the regular season out with two games against Levelland. Tuesday, Big Spring hosts Sweetwater at 7 p.m. and plays Sweetwater again Friday in Sweetwater.
This night, Snyder did not look like a league leading team. It made five errors, which resulted in five Big Spring unearned runs, all in the first inning. Big Spring rode the pitching of Eli Cobos, and it was a wrap. Cobos was steady, not spectacular. He went six innings and gave up only one run. He rolled fives - five hits, five strikeouts and five walks.
