The Howard College men and women’s basketball teams are set to host South Plains College today at Dorothy Garrett Coliseum. The game will be televised live nationally on ESPN+ as part of the NJCAA “Game of the Week”.
Everyone is encouraged to come on out and support the men and women’s basketball teams. Admission will be free for the game and the theme is “Black out the Dorothy.” Fans are encouraged to wear black to supports the Hawks. “Black out the Dorothy” t-shirts will be given away to the first 200 fans at the game!
Howard College will also be recognizing and honoring the late John Weeks right before the start of the women's game at 5:15 p.m.
There will also be a hula-hoop contest between the women’s and men’s games.
The first 20 contestants that arrive to the designated area will be given a shot at the Hula-Hoop championship! All ages are encouraged to participate with a chance to win some Hawk swag!
The Sweetwater Jump Rope Team will also provide halftime entertainment for both the men's and women's game that you sure won't want to miss!
Cash only concession stands will be open with a wide variety of offerings to include chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, hotdogs, ceviche nachos, popcorn and other traditional concession stand offerings. You can definitely have dinner while enjoying a fun family night at the games!
So come on out for a fun filled night and help support and cheer the Hawks basketball teams!! Women's game is set for a 5:30 p.m. start and the men's game is set for 7:30 p.m.
